Over the River & Through the Woods

Spending a couple of days in Ohio with my grandmother.  I got a bee in my bonnet to attempt my grandfather’s homemade dinner roll recipe.

They definitely need some tweaking, but my grandmother was happy enough with them, so that’ll work for me.  The recipe has gone through different variations as it’s passed from my great-grandmother Nana to my grandfather to my mother.  This was my first attempt but it won’t be the last.

The problem I find with recipes as they make the rounds through families – especially beloved ones that people have made dozens of times – is that I seriously doubt all of the ingredients are written down.  I guess I’ll just have to work on it and see what I can do.  Better luck next time.
