What is it with photographers and this whole "patience" thing?
Last night, I went to see Stephen Wilkes speak on GW's campus. Like Abell, it was a combination of lecture and slideshow and inspiration. His work – or at least the work he showed – was a bit more commercial than I think, but some of his personal work, like Ellis Island, is breathtaking. He said he shot on the island for five years and if he got three good photos in a day, it was an amazing day of work. That just boggles my mind.
Of course, I'm trying to do a Year in Pictures on Flickr and I have literally snapped one photo today. I have 10 minutes to try to get one worth posting. Eek!
